Manual alternative
Convert a PPTX with Google Drive
The manual route follows Google's Office-file import workflow. It takes a few more menu actions and needs no SlideRelay authorization.
Upload the file
In Google Drive, choose New → File upload and select the .pptx file.
Open it
Right-click the uploaded file and choose Open with → Google Slides.
Save a native copy
Choose File → Save as Google Slides from the presentation editor.
Review the deck
Check fonts, line wraps, image crops, charts, effects, animations, and media before presenting.
If editability matters, do not turn every slide into an image. A screenshot can preserve appearance, but it removes the native text and shapes that the source file may contain. Starting in Canva? Use the Canva to Google Slides guide before importing.
Conversion boundaries
Native where the source is native
“Editable” describes the elements that survive as native objects. It is not a promise that every source feature will look or behave identically.

| Images and crops | Remain images. Review crop position, masks, and effects after Google imports the file. |
| Animation and media | Review transitions, timing, audio, video, and application-specific effects after import; they may be simplified, omitted, or behave differently. |
That boundary follows Google's 100 MB limit for presentations converted to Google Slides.
Repair & Verify — development preview
One accepted repair on an unseen deck
This is a bounded beta direction, not a feature in the basic converter. One independently checked candidate fixed one severe text collision. That single result does not establish a general success rate.
What this does not prove: automated orchestration, broad repair coverage, or safe fixes for other overlaps, media, gradients, animation, and flattened objects. The current converter applies none of these experimental repairs.
